Michael Thonet, Vienna, designed and manufactured the iconic "Thonet n°9 Le Corbusier armchair". It's also known as Thonet No. B9 bentwood armchair, a design from around 1870.
It was heavily used and favored by the renowned French architect Le Corbusier in the mid-1920s, becoming a symbol of minimalist, functional design.
Characterized by its steam-bent beechwood frame, the chair is considered a classic in modern design history.
I bought this antique gem in Brussels, Belgium, in 1976. The chair has been used over time, adding to its charm.
