Part of their Hillcrest Suite … Read more A lovely pair of 1930s Elizabethan revival dining side chairs by Jacob Summers & Sons. Part of their Hillcrest Suite as seen on page 18 of their catalog. Made from oak with a flower carved back, leather saddle seat and robust baluster shaped from legs. The company was founded by Jacob Summers in the 1880s and at the time these chairs were made, their factory was located in Tottenham, North London in the UK. Upholstered in leather made in British India. The British Raj was under rule by the British Crown in India from 1858 to 1947. See less
