The body features a richly textured layer of aventurine glass—thousands of suspended coppery gold flecks that glitter when light passes through—complemented by vibrant green, cream, lilac, cobalt, and white inclusions that appear to float within the clear casing, creating organic, painterly movement.

These soft color patterns were created using murrine, a traditional Venetian technique in which rods of colored glass are fused, stretched, and sliced to reveal delicate internal designs—each one a miniature mosaic sealed within crystal glass.

Both ends are rounded and matte-polished, a hand-finishing detail that evens the surface and contrasts beautifully with the high-gloss body. The technique also signals studio craftsmanship rather than mass production.

Likely crafted between the 1970s and 1990s, this substantial decorative object bridges mid-century and contemporary studio glass aesthetics.
