Born in the early years of the 20th century, this French commode displays the elegant characteristics of the Louis XV period. Painted in a light grey / white color, the commode features a dark grey top that provides a perfect contrast to the rest of the façade. Two drawers below showcase a subtle and restrained serpentine shape. Each dovetailed drawer is divided into three sections receiving the bronze hardware. Two Rococo handles flank a central escutcheon set inside a cartouche. The skirt, showing a rather calm silhouette, is accented in its center with a C-scroll motif. The commode is raised on four cabriole legs, whose curvy lines show the same restraint noticed on the rest of the body.
