This Winsdor Rocking Chair is in excellent condition. The wood has a beautiful aged patina. It is petite in stature (please check measurements), but this should not be considered as a Childs chair. However, I am sure a child would very much enjoy rocking in it. It was made for adults, placed low to the ground so that knitting and hand sewing could be easily reached in a basket on the floor. The age of this chair is placed at early 20th century due to the burned in makers mark on the bottom of the chair. Its age is approximated early 1930's). The makers mark is pictured and the seal reads 'Nicholstone All American'.
The finish is the original finish with only one small mark in the wood on the top back of the chair. (see pictures). Spindles, legs and runners are all solid.
The house where this chair came from was more than likely the original owners. They owned a furniture shop until they retired. They left some chairs in the house and this wonderful Windsor Rocker was one of them. The condition is superb, showing minimal markings and wear. Any marks or scratches are due to the age of the chair. Please consider the pictures as part of the description. less
