These classic English … Read more A striking and substantial pair of antique Staffordshire lions, each proudly resting a paw upon an orb. These classic English pottery figures date to the late 19th century, circa 1880–1900, and were traditionally displayed on mantels as symbols of strength and guardianship.

The glaze shows a warm range of amber, ochre, and cream tones, with hand-painted details to the mane and expressive faces—each lion with its own distinct personality, as typical of hand-modeled Staffordshire work.

Both are in excellent antique condition, with expected age-appropriate crazing and minor firing variations. Perfect for display on a mantel, bookshelf, or console—ideal in a Ralph Lauren–style English country or library interior.
