An exceptionally detailed mid-century brass toned decorative vessel featuring a rare double-duck form, with each end sculpted into a stylized duck head and beak. The piece rests on four finely cast duck feet and is richly ornamented with hand-engraved and likely enamel-inlaid floral motifs across the entire body. Each section of the vessel displays intricate chased work, from the feather-textured necks to the ornate botanical patterns etched along the bowl and base.
The floral inlay is rendered in vivid shades of copper, red, and gold, giving depth and contrast to surface. The pattern work appears both inside and outside the bowl, indicating the artisan's commitment to all-around craftsmanship rather than a single display angle. Subtle detailing around the rim and symmetrical division at the vessel's center highlight the precision of its handwork.
Likely originating from India or the Middle East in the mid-20th century, this piece reflects traditional metalworking techniques used in decorative brassware of the period - blending repoussé engraving, punch work, and colored enameling. The sculptural quality and whimsical symmetry of the double-duck design make it as much conversation piece as it is an example of fine craft tradition.
Perfect for use as a tabletop centerpiece, decorative bowl, or collector's accent, this vessel pairs beautifully with both mid-century and eclectic interiors.
