The … Read more Vintage; Vintage Chinese, Champleve'-style and design, is this often misinterpreted as a cloisonné' enameled and brass lidded keepsake box. The process is minutely different in that the negative surround is brass, while enamel design, often a floral or geometric and ethnic origin designs consists of filling in the positive with enamel, which are indebted within a brass, thin linear outline, while background or negative is all in brass, where cloisonné' is the positive and negative enameled also with soldered brass linear surround, ad the only brass one sees in cloisonné pieces is the perimeter base and top edging or in this case, base, and the 2 pieces between the lidded top and base, which fits uniformly and comfortably. In great condition for era and use, normal and conducive to Vintage pieces, and "as is found," condition. We left the patina in tact. See less
