Interior label reads "Hunt & Roskell, Late Storr & Mortimer, Jewellers, Goldsmiths & Silversmiths, To the Queen, HRH The Prince of Wales, &c, &c, &c. 156 Bond Street, London, W." See photos for closeups. Wonderful patina from use and history, including residue from the original wax seal. Large double iron handles on each side, and bracket supports on edges and corners. This stunning silver chest was used to transport heavy valuables across the Atlantic for this prestigious firm. Original key lost to history.
