When we found this several years ago, we knew we would be on a long mission to find the maker. Knowing that some of Jonathan Adler's work is based on mid century designers, we first sent a picture to JA asking if they knew the provenance of this piece. They did respond, but did not know. After countless research hours, our endeavor into identifying the artist continues

No chips nor cracks
Some orange discoloring and dark scuffing on back, ears, and underside bottom feet
Other not as obvious scuff marks all around
Made of a ceramic with what we believe to be melted glass dark blue/black eyes. We are unsure what the charcoal color around the blue (and pupils) are, but we suspect it is a material meant to keep the glass inside the lines when melting
The off-white unglazed/matte body has incised wavy lines
