It is signed by Rita Singleton, a potter and instructor at the famous pottery destination.

Hand-thrown and beautifully glazed, the vase features mesmerizing, organic swirls of smoky gray and earthy rust tones that ripple across its rounded form, reminiscent of tide lines on sand. Its tactile surface and fluid design reflect the hand of a true craftsperson, blending midcentury modern sensibility with the natural textures of the California coast.

Pottery Shack was located on the Pacific Coast Highway in South Laguna. It was established in 1936 with a truckload of Bauer factory seconds. In addition to production California dinnerware like Metlox, Vernon, Red Wing and Harker; they held pottery and glass blowing demonstrations. The work from the demonstrations was then sold in the shop.
