A framed work of Persian calligraphy featuring a line of Farsi poetry.
The Farsi text on the piece reads: "در حسرت گذشته و آینده خفتیم." A direct translation of this line is, "In the sorrow of the past and the future, we ponder". This phrase suggests a philosophical or contemplative message about being too focused on the past or future to live in the present.
The calligraphy is set against a light blue, canvas-like background and framed in a darker blue frame with gold accents. Blue is a color often used in Persian art, especially a rich, deep shade known as "Persian Blue," which has roots in ancient Persian tile work and textiles.
