Collectors and designers alike prize Louis Prang’s botanicals as the most beautifully printed in America’s Gilded Age. His Boston workshop perfected color lithography to a degree still unmatched—each tone laid by hand from separate stones, creating watercolor-like depth. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Smithsonian, and Library of Congress all hold examples from the Wild Flowers of America series.
This matched suite of nine plates from Volume II captures that mastery in a balanced, luminous palette. Each print is titled and numbered within the plate and carries the L. Prang & Co. imprint.
Framed uniformly in Larson-Juhl’s raw-oak Kyoto moulding with archival mats and UV non-glare glazing, these nine create an elegant 3 × 3 wall arrangement—a ready-to-hang botanical gallery with perfect rhythm and historical pedigree.
