The wicker casing was a traditional way of protecting and transporting older and more delicate wines such as Madeira.

What appear to be Wine spots on the label. See pictures for all details. The Lid handle is broken but the pieces are with it. It can set on there, but is not usable for lifting. The piece is very old . I’d suggest Not putting a bottle in it. less
