Ooh la la! French style bistro change/tip trays commemorating a glorious time of sailing the Atlantic. In addition to having a great decorative vibe, these heavy, shallow trinket bowls are extremely versatile for use in the home or office. They can hold rings at the sink, keys in an entry, change on a dresser, or paper clips on a desk.
The ship logos featured in the plates' center medallions recall the SS Normandie, a French luxury oceanliner launched in 1932 and the RMS Queen Elizabeth, a 1910s British Royal Navy battleship. While these are more contemporary pieces, they harken back to the glory years of European seafaring. Mark en verso: "Premiere Class 1978".
