Japanese onsens continue to be a favorite subject; so much so that I painted over 400 pool paintings throughout the lockdowns.

I find great comfort in painting these deeply evocative compositions. The colors are carefully selected to add to the overall sense of calm. This tranquil quiet scene is showcasing a sense of freedom and luxury. There is a subtle hint to a bygone era. Every detailed brush stroke is carefully planned and executed through layers of paint and glazing.
