Fine piece of American sculpture by New Haven, CT born artist, Paul Wayland Bartlett (1865-1925). This piece circa 1890-1895 as per the Smithsonian.
Truly wonderful baby robin bird, cast bronze sculpture. The detail of this piece is extensive and impressive...from the feathers to the talons, it's remarkably lifelike. The sculpture is finished with a rich, mottled dark brown patina.
Measures 4"x 2.75"x 4". No imperfections. In excellent condition. Initialed "B" within the casting, between the bird's feet, undated.
