I am a huge fan and collector of Italian ceramics. Marbro was an importer of high-quality lamp parts in the 40s' through the 70s' based in California. They are known for their exquisite taste and Hollywood Recency aesthetic.
What is so interesting about hand-painted production line ceramics, is although they are the same there are differences. With this pair of lamps, I can tell they were painted by two different artisans. One artist has a looser hand, his style is much more open, freer brushstrokes. His flower spreads and wraps around the urn. There are tiny sgraffito lines that imbue the art with movement and life.. Both artists are talented and produced lovely pieces, but it's fun having a favorite. Such pretty pieces, waiting for the right designer to give them pride of place.
At some point in time, the sockets were replaced and the labels were lost. Original harps, high hat finials, and wiring.

There are no chips, cracks or crazing. There are natural imperfections that are part of the manufacturing process. In one picture I included a picture of a glaze skip. There are also glaze pops and other glaze anomalies that are normal to this rustic handicraft. The bronze colored bases have patina. Original wiring.
