GORGEOUS CARVED MEDICINE CABINET / CUPBOARD

DESCRIPTION
Beautiful hand carved mahogany wall-hanging or shelf-mounted medicine chest. Single raised panel door with an elaborate Art Nouveau carving of a crane, fish and reeds, showing the influence of Chinese styling. Matching carved side columns on the door. Brass latch and butt hinges. Carved crest panel with a cameo of a sparrow, flanked by floral panels and end rosettes. Mortise and tenon door construction. Slightly overhung molded top and base. Two interior shelves.
CONDITION
Overall excellent. Rich, robust age patina. Some very minor paint stains on the rear edges where it was once attached to a painted wall. Some surface wear to the very top surface in front of the crest (all visible in the images). A WONDERFUL ART NOUVEAU VICTORIAN-ERA CABINET.
