good condition considering its age and use

antique railway technical lantern made of black lacquered iron, with a prismatic body and a patinated bronze finial. The side glass panels, colored red and green, acted as light filters, essential for communication and safety on the railway. The lantern retains its original structure, with a hinged side door and a top handle for carrying or hanging.
inside, there is a compartment for the oil burner, which illuminated the lantern via a perforated ventilation system typical of french manufacturers in the early 20th century. The piece bears an engraved plaque with the inscription "h. Luchaire," a manufacturer of technical instruments and lighting fixtures founded in 1720 in paris. The company, with its long family tradition, moved in 1913 to rue de la chapelle in saint-ouen, from where it continued producing precision maritime and railway lanterns. This piece has an attribution mark,
