An exceptional late-Meiji Kyoto Satsuma dish of square flared form, lavishly painted with intricate scenes in enamel and raised gilding.

The centre depicts a gathering of Buddhist rakan, each with distinctive expression and gilded robes, alongside a serene female figure, possibly Kannon. The surrounding fan-shaped panels illustrate courtly life and ceremonial scenes, densely patterned in the Kyoto Awata style.

The base bears a red seal 京都清風製 (Kyōto Seifū sei, “Made by Seifū, Kyoto”).
