A perfect storm of the Masculine in the Metal, a Brutalist Industrial take, meeting the Feminine with a softer touch of material, with the Shagreen rounded tops. Makers mark brass plate is to the base bottom of one of the tops, as image indicates. The Shagreen was mounted on wood bases with wrapped tops and sides. The base frame is hand-fored industrial iron made of looped or interlocking, square shaped forms, tiered in a column and mounted on a round forged iron base. Solid table at that, but an unusual, eclectic and yet eccentric ensemble piece of furniture for the artistic discerning eye and collector. This is a "RARE," piece, as we have not come across another like this. Usually R & Y Augousti made discerning tables, boxes, accessories and what not, but with that in mind. The Vinatge artistic and Contemporary Designs, coupled with Exotic material and a collector's eye, for which the eccentric and purposeful eye had a fancy to material such as Shagreen, snakeskin, ostrich and stingray, skin leather, metal wood, etc...BUT it's that combination of juxtaposition of the offsetting material utilized, and crafted for an Eclectic eye. singular and highly coveted by many. R & Y Augousti is a Luxury Brand Furniture and Accessories Line, formed in 1989, by Husband and Wife team, Ria and Yiouri Augousti, their pieces are highly sought after and often commissioned for clients.
