Richter. We are very glad to announce we have some of these rare and beautiful pieces for sale! This hand colored lithograph comes from the first addition of "The Birds of Great Britain" and features a wildlife scene of a wood sandpiper and a green sandpiper. The artwork is on rag paper and has been professionally matted and framed. The scene depicted has exquisite details throughout. The artist captures every detail from the plumage to the flora. This series is considered to be "the most sumptuous and costly of British bird books". The famed artist lived from 1804-1881. This piece was created in 1872. It would be magnificent on any wall! It can be hung via the universal metal bracket on the back. The frame is hand caved solid wood with carved detailing. The matting is mostly white with a small rich brown accent. The wording a the bottom of the artwork reads from left to right: "Wood Sandpiper. Totanus Glareola; (Temm)" "Green Sandpiper. Totamus ochropus; (Temm)".
