"The Venus Callipyge, also known as the Aphrodite Kallipygos or the Callipygian Venus, all literally meaning "Venus of the beautiful buttocks", is an Ancient Roman marble statue, thought to be a copy of an older Greek original."

Archibald J. Webb was born in 1928 in Oxford, NC. Mr. Webb was an accomplished oil portrait and still-life painter having studied and served as an educator at the Farnsworth School of Fine Art. He spent most of his professional career in Melbourne, Florida. This piece is one of his later works and the only painting currently available for sale from the Webb estate. Excellent condition. Giltwood frame shows minor wear. See less
