The turtle’s shell opens on a hinge to reveal a small compartment once used to hold cigarettes, matches, or keepsakes. Cast in solid brass with incised geometric detailing on the shell and stylized feet and head, it features an embossed character on its back—symbolizing good fortune and longevity in East Asian culture.

Beautifully aged with natural patina and traces of verdigris, giving it a timeworn golden glow. Stamped Korea on the underside with remnants of its original Hand Made paper label.

A lovely accent for a desk, console, or coffee table—perfect for storing small jewelry, coins, or simply admired as a sculptural decorative object.
