**Early 20th Century Chinese Export Porcelain Pottery - Temple Altar Buddha's Fingers Fruit**
Chinese ceramics in the form of altar fruit.
This piece represents the citron fruit known as Buddha's Fingers, symbolizing happiness and longevity. Its name comes from the long, finger-like tendrils that resemble the traditional hand position of the Buddha. Typically, these fruits were offered as spiritual blessings or filled with material gifts such as money or other valuable items.
The mottled shape is glazed in bright yellow and green, accented by an intricate brown stem. It is in good condition considering its age, all the edges."fingers" intact.
This listing is for the yellow piece, but we also have a green fruit available, shown in another listing. Please refer to the photos as part of our description.
