This 1970s console table has a brass-plated base with a clean, architectural line: flat-sided legs, each opened by a stepped slot, and a shallow frame that holds a smoked glass top. The base is finished in faux malachite, emerald and bright green layered in resin to give the depth of real stone, in the spirit of the Schumacher Xanadu pattern. The edges of the legs and the frame are hand gilded in gold leaf, so each form is outlined against the green.

The console measures 54" wide, 15" deep, and 28" high, a good size for an entry wall, behind a sofa, or beneath a mirror. Made in the late 20th century, in the style of Tony Duquette, James Mont, and Karl Springer, it suits Palm Beach Regency, Hollywood Regency, Chinoiserie, and Postmodern rooms, and it works as a bar or sideboard in a dining room. The finish is newly painted and hand finished in our Atelier.
