This Helen Frankenthaler very rare vintage 2000 Abstract Expressionist Tyler Graphics fine art lithograph print custom framed Japan exhibition poster " Tales of Genji II " 1998, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The fine art poster print is printed and published by Tyler Graphics Ltd. printed in 2000 in an unnumbered limited edition on the occasion of the " New Works 1998 - 1999 Exhibition of Prints from Tyler Graphics Archive Collection " at The Center for Contemporary Art in Sukagawa-Shi, Fukushima Japan. It features an artwork image originally created by Frankenthaler in 1998 titled " Tales of Genji II ", copyright Helen Frankenthaler / Tyler Graphics Ltd., 2000.
Helen Frankenthaler ( 1928 - 2011 ) is an American Abstract Expressionist painter of a liberal Jewish background, and is a major contributor to the history of Postwar Modernist painting. She exhibited her work for over six decades, spanning several generations of Abstract painters while continuing to produce vital and ever changing new art works.
Her work has been the subject of several retrospective exhibitions including The Museum of Modern Art New York, The Whitney Museum, The Jewish Museum, and The Los Angeles County Museum of Art. She has been exhibited worldwide since the 1950's, and was awarded The National Medal of the Arts in 2001. Her artworks are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.
Tyler Graphics Ltd. founded by Kenneth E. Tyler is considered by many to be the most accomplished Contemporary master printer and publisher. Tyler is an arts educator and prominent figure in the American Post War revival of fine art limited edition printmaking. His technically advanced expertise and willingness to experiment on a bold scale drew many famous and influential artists to his workshops, among them David Hockney, Frank Stella, Helen Frankenthaler, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg and Jasper Johns.
The rare out of print framed Abstract Expressionist exhibition poster print measures 20 3/4" W X 29 1/8" H X 1" D.
It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern variegated natural oak tan light brown woodgrain style matte eggshell finish metal frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent " like new " condition. The poster print is in excellent " like new " very clean condition with very light signs of handling. It is brand newly custom framed and has never been displayed. Please see photos for condition reference. It is now being offered here for an excellent price.
