A beautifully detailed pair of antique cast iron andirons (or firedogs) made by The Ohio F & M Co., an Ohio foundry active from the 1880s through the 1920s, during the height of the Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau movements.
Each andiron features a sculptural finial with flowing organic motifs and a hammered-textured surface typical of the transitional design language between the late Victorian and early 20th-century decorative eras. The curved tripod bases provide excellent stability, while the surface retains a naturally aged patina with traces of original blackened finish.
Stamped “Ohio F & M Co.”, these andirons reflect the craftsmanship and design sensibility of a period when utilitarian objects were also made to be beautiful. Perfect for a restored fireplace, historic home, or as decorative ironwork in a modern rustic setting.
