VERY UNUSUAL 19TH CENTURY STONEWARE BATTER PITCHER
DIMENSIONS
About 8" high x 7 1/2" across the handle and body.
DESCRIPTION
Stoneware batter pitcher with a dark chocolate brown glaze. Curvilinear lobes around the body. Applied handle. Probable Pennsylvania, Ohio or New York origin. Unglazed base with a painted "M" or "W".
CONDITION
Overall very good. No hairlines. Small rim flake and several small fleabites or glaze flakes around the body (visible in the images). A FINE AND RARE MID TO LATE 19TH CENTURY AMERICAN STONEWARE BATTER PITCHER.
