The wood root of a Cypress tree … Read more This set of four uniquely painted holiday carolers are painted on Cypress knees. The wood root of a Cypress tree are given the name "knees" due to their knobby protruding extensions above ground. These trees are grown along the coast from southern Delaware to Southeast Texas.

The attire on this quad of carolers range from hooded fur trim coats, black skirt and mittens. Each face is painted with expression of delight as they sing from the 'Christmas Carols' book. The traditional holiday colors of deep forest green, soft white and cherry red are throughout the set of four. The makers mark on bottom is from the artist, Frances Cooper, an unknown artist to many, but well known to me, as she is my late mother who was an exceptional artist.
