Hark back in time with this original German pitcher stein by Reinh Merkebach, renown pottery make in Germany. Rustic European in design, the ceramic base is beautifully embossed in an Art Nouveau design with floral and scrollwork motifs. The finish is a glossy dark chocolate brown and deep navy in color. The round ridged pewter is attached to the ceramic handle and the lid opens easily with a pitcher opening of 2 inches wide. The piece is numbered, "7625/2 and made by "Reinh. Merkelbach Höhr Grenzhausen". After research, the numbered imprint on bottom indicates this piece was made between 1936 to 1960's. A perfect piece for the collector of European steins!
