Constructed from a frame of solid Burmese teak in excellent original condition this instantly recognizable rocker features new white cotton bouclé upholstery by Knoll Fabrics as well as new medium density foam for maximum comfort and longevity.

Frank Reenskaug began his studies in furniture design in 1952 at the SHKS school in Norway. That same year, he introduced a folding chair that would, just two years later, be featured at the Triennalen Pavilion in Milan. In 1956, his Cross Chair became the first of his creations to enter mass production through the Danish furniture company N.A. Jørgensen, which would later be known as Bramin.

In 1958, Bramin launched Reenskaug's now-iconic Rocking Chair No. 182-a groundbreaking concept at the time: a high-quality, flat-pack rocking chair that could be easily assembled at home and was offered at an affordable price. It quickly became his most commercially successful design and achieved wide international popularity.
