The frame shows classic Eastlake traits—incised gilt linework, ebonized accents, turned pilaster columns, and a scalloped architectural crest. Warm reddish hardwood (likely walnut or cherry) surrounds a rectangular mirror with a gilded liner; original plank back and hanging wire present. Sized for an entry, mantle, or bedroom (41 x 22.75 x 3.25 in), it blends beautifully with traditional, cottage, and grandmillennial décor. Eastlake design, popularized by British tastemaker Charles Eastlake, favored geometric carving and honest construction over heavy Rococo ornament—an enduring American favorite. See less
