This finely detailed composition depicts a romantic pastoral scene with a stone bridge, swans, peacocks, trees, and a distant chateau framed by manicured gardens, all enclosed within an elaborate floral and foliate scroll border. Tapestry is initialed in the weave lower right corner, " VR". Original label verso inscribed "Chateau de la Lys, Tissage artisanal no. 26" indicating handcrafted weaving, and giving an address of 28 rue Bonaparte in Paris.
