Vintage: C.1920's- German Art Deco Era, Jakob Grimminger, Sterling silver lidded keepsake box, and or cigarette and/or card box, lined … Read more Vintage: C.1920's- German Art Deco Era, Jakob Grimminger, Sterling silver lidded keepsake box, and or cigarette and/or card box, lined with cedarwood. We do not know the use of this other than it has a multitudes of endeavors, either feminine or masculine, but certainly quality sterling silver plated and hinged back lidded decorative box with some form of undulating fluting or crinkle effect to the top lid, imitates a sunburst of sortsa simple a d defined look which sometimes extenuated the period, beyond the integral decorative influences that era abounded in. Makers mark logo engraved on the underside, with the words, "Sterling Silver, and below this the devotion of Sterling in numerical references, .925 listed on the underside of the box as well. Plan beach island clients purchased in France as we were appraised of the information we gleaned. We have not been able to discern the actual Silversmith Company or Company this was made for, BUT we were able to find the actual Silversmith whom partook in these type of decorative boxes with this look and design.
