Each features detailed repoussé ornamentation: leaf and berry borders, fan-like shell medallions, and a raised oval cartouche engraved “KOS.”

These stirrups were likely made for ceremonial or parade use, echoing the opulence of Spanish cavalry traditions dating back to the Conquistador era. Their shoe shape derives from Moorish influences that carried through colonial equestrian gear across Spain and the Americas.

Both examples display a rich, untouched patina with natural verdigris, scuffs, and casting irregularities consistent with age.

One retains its original brass strap bar (slightly bent).

The other has an old iron replacement bar, solid and functional.

Undersides show triangular cutouts, wear, and a few stable cracks from long use.

These are handmade originals, not reproductions — remarkably matched for their age and craftsmanship.
