This is a RARE set of 4 mid-1880 French architectural interior lithographs that showcase elaborate framed wall mirrors with wall … Read more This is a RARE set of 4 mid-1880 French architectural interior lithographs that showcase elaborate framed wall mirrors with wall panel designs, fireplaces and small period furniture. They are typical of the period known as "Arts Decoratif". They feature both functional and beautiful designs. They came from an unbound art decoratif album of interiors by artist and editior, Arman Guerinet. Guerinet illustrated numerous works during this period featuring private residences in the Louis XIV, XV, and XVI periods for the most elite aristocrats in French society. Each image is vertical, measuring 9 x 12.75 inches to the exterior edges. There are architectural notations and documentation markings as well. The wall panels are framed with a thin line edging. Note too the elaborate detailing and intricacies of the designs reflective of the traditional elements of the period. These are "classical" interiors. The designs are in gray tones, borders are cream tone. These images are in excellent antique condition consistent with age and history. There is minor foxing on the outside edges of the plates which are easily matted out with framing. Together, as a set, they make for RARE wall decor.
