A Sèvres-style bronze-mounted porcelain covered jar from the 19th Century.
The jar has a domed lid topped with a bronze finial that resembles a pinecone or artichoke. The body of the jar is made of white porcelain decorated with pink borders, gold gilding, and stylized floral motifs and ribbons. A decorative bronze mount surrounds the upper portion of the jar, joining the lid to the body. This type of object was created in the style of Sèvres porcelain, a French porcelain factory known for its artistry and quality in the 18th and 19th centuries.
