The most recognized of Hans Wegner’s chairs, the round back or “The Chair” was designed in 1948. Exquisitely constructed by cabinetmaker Johannes Hansen. This chair was made famous in the US when the chair was used during the Nixon/ Kennedy debate, the chair epitomizes the best of Danish modern. This vintage example executed in oak is fully marked. The wood frame is in very good condition. Reupholstery is very easy in fabric of choice.
