This authentic hand-knotted Oushak rug brings a vibrant touch of Aegean Anatolian heritage to any compact space. Its sun-faded palette and low profile make it a sophisticated choice for modern and bohemian interiors alike.
Woven in the 1970s, this piece originates from the Oushak region, world-renowned for its artistic approach to geometric and floral motifs. These small "miniature" rugs were traditionally crafted by village weavers for use as entrance mats or bedside accents within the home. Over the decades, the natural wool has softened and developed a unique patina, reflecting the passage of time and the durability of traditional Turkish craftsmanship.

The intricate border incorporates S motifs (hook motifs), traditionally used by weavers to ward off the evil eye and bring good fortune to the household.

■ What Is a Turkish Rug?: A Turkish rug is a hand-knotted masterpiece, crafted using the symmetrical Ghiordes knot—a double-knot technique unique to the Anatolian weaving tradition. These authentic vintage textiles are made from 100% natural wool and organic vegetable dyes, ensuring durability and a rich, soulful character that machine-made rugs cannot replicate. Each rug tells a story through ancient geometric symbols and tribal motifs, bringing timeless heritage and artisanal warmth to modern interior designs.
