BEAUTIFUL FEDERAL PIER MIRROR GILDED EGLOMISE TABLET LATE 18TH / EARLY 19TH CENTURY
DIMENSIONS About 36 1/2" x 16 1/2" x 2"
DESCRIPTION Wonderful gilded Federal period mirror. Probably American. Elaborate pierced shell-carved crest capped with a carved ribbon bow banner, framing a reverse painted glass tablet showing a woman in early attire and a flower vase on a pedestal. Beveled mirror glass. Gold trimmed frame surrounding the mirror panel. Rough sawn back boards
CONDITION Overall very good. Rough-sawn backboards are partly detached. Upper glass tablet is cracked. Some very minor silver loss in the mirror, and some age darkening to the gilt crest. Glass tablet and mirror pane appear to be original (all visible in the images). A BEAUTIFUL LATE 18TH / EARLY 19TH CENTURY AMERICAN WALL MIRROR!
