A graceful pair of mid-century Arita porcelain plates, exquisitely hand-painted in Japan circa 1950s–60s. Each piece depicts a tranquil kachō-ga (bird and flower) scene — a long-tailed songbird perched among peonies and spring foliage — framed by alternating geometric and scalloped fan patterns in cobalt blue and celadon green.
Crafted in the renowned Arita kilns of Saga Prefecture, these porcelain plates exhibit the refinement of Japan’s postwar export era. The reverse features a hand-painted “Japan” mark and the classic double blue ring, characteristic of high-quality mid-century production.
