Antique embossed Vaseline glass “pig snout” gin bottle from A. Van Hoboken & Co., Rotterdam, dating to around 1860.
This luminous square-bodied bottle features a hand-applied pig snout top, deeply embossed lettering reading “A. van Hoboken & Co. / Rotterdam,” and an embossed shoulder medallion marked 1860.
Crafted in brilliant chartreuse yellow-green glass, the bottle displays a vivid tone typical of 19th-century Vaseline or uranium glass. While untested under UV light, examples of this type often fluoresce a striking green when illuminated.
