Two hand-painted majolica plates from renown French potter Sarreguemines produced sometime between 1920 and 1940. Strawberriesin finely-detailed relief on one with grapes of equal quality on the second. Both are on a yellow ground. These are the most popular of the designs produced by this esteemed potter in its 170 year history.
NOTE: Sarreguemines produced these designs into the 21st century though the artistry and relief moulding declines in pieces produced after 1950 as the company moved through a succession of owners not affiliated with the original founding family
