Varied tones of gold, silver and aged wood adorn this antique lidded tramp art decorative box catching the light that produces dramatic shadows. Four layers of pyramid-like facets encompass all sides. The lid is simple, unique and different in comparison to other tramp art boxes -- in that it’s flat with two small wood slats on both sides. The design makes it a unique piece to use as a base/pedestal to hold an art object or vase of flowers. The inside is clean with a soft gold painted interior finish.
Tramp art boxes were usually made from European or U.S. itinerant farmers or workers using common objects. This piece offers up various decor styles such Folk Art, Rustic Farmhouse or Arts & Crafts. If you’re a collector of tramp art boxes, and want to incorporate a classic antique of the period, then consider this a”keeper” in your home.
