The composition is set against the backdrop of a large building. In the foreground, scattered figures in coats and hats move across an open square, their simplified forms rendered with brisk, confident brushstrokes. Leafless trees punctuate the composition, their dark linear trunks rising against the pale ground, while a lamp post anchors the right-hand side.
