Two blue dual-toned circles are near the center of the composition, surrounded by a yellow dual-toned square. The square sits in upper two-thirds of the composition against a black rectangular background. The work is displayed in a white and yellow double mat and black metal frame. Signed to the lower right of the composition, the piece is numbered 356/500 to the lower left.

Jo Niemeyer is a celebrated sculptor, photographer, and painter. Both of his parents were artists during WWII. Niemeyer's mother worked in textiles, while his father was a painter. His father's works were considered "degenerate" by the Nazi regime and were destroyed. In the 1960s, Niemeyer began exploring Op Art after creating geometrical paintings. Today, his works are found in multiple museums including the Museum of Modern Art. See less
