Schwab is a ceramic artist from Oregon known for creating functional stoneware with simple forms and vivid, earthy colors. This is prime example of his master pottery skills. Simple, rustic, and beautiful!

Monumental globular pot with lid. Glazed stoneware in tones earth tones of yellow, red, and blue. Indentations at each side for easy handling.

Measures 8 1/2" tall x 10" wide.

Excellent condition, no chips, cracks, or repairs. Schwab stamp at base.

Wally Schwab creates simple forms with vivid colors, a blend of technical and artistic mastery. A staple of Northwest craft for decades, he has established the ceramics departments at Marylhurst College, Clackamas Community College and Portland Community College Rock Creek campus. He has also taught at Oregon College of Art and Craft and Catlin Gabel School.

Schwab is also an internationally recognized artist, and a recipient of the prestigious Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation grant. He has shown his work throughout the United States as well as the Victoria & Albert Museum, London and the first World Ceramic Biennale in Korea. He holds a BS from Portland State University and an MFA in ceramics from Alfred University, NY.

Wally Schwab has shown his work in The Gallery since 1968. His work is also a part of the collection at Museum of Contemporary Craft. See less
