Solid brass, heavy center base with cast gargoyle/phoenix on both front and back. Brass is deep in color and tone.

Fans fold easily in and out of the center piece and will rest in the center with folded in. Originally, there were two clips, one on each side to keep the fan blades in place when stored at the center, however one is missing but does not affect the fan blades staying in place.

Blades fold in and out of the center base with ease. Should blades get stuck, a simple wiggle and ensuring the filagree design isn't caught on the center base will do the trick.

This piece has not been polished in order to keep the patina, however it could be polished up to reveal a brighter gold color if desired. It has been cleaned and is ready to shine in its next home.

Overall condition of this piece is excellent, gorgeous patina exists throughout. There is one repair with wire on fan blades 2 and 3 from bottom right side. Repair allows the screen to function completely normal and is not noticeable.

Solid and sturdy, the screen will not knock over easily and is free from wobbles. This is a HEAVY piece and is so well constructed!

Repair with wire on fan blades 2 and 3 from bottom right side. Repair allows the screen to function completely normal. Fan blades are secured in place just from friction when closed but there is also a bar that encloses them on one side of the frame. Fan blades fold in and out with little effort, though they will sometimes get stuck due to the design of the blades being cut out metal. Very sturdy, solid, heavy piece! No wobbling! See less
